The Wallaw, Blyth designed taking influence from the Original Art Deco style
The bar formed the centre piece of the design, being positioned where the stage had been. The large, illuminated mirror feature takes influence from the Art Dec style of the building, whilst other elements are influenced by the grandeur of the theatre and the 1920's glamour of the time when the theatre was built.
Influence is also taken from the theatre and it's workings, with the use of can lights hung from lighting rigs in front of the bar and the existing projector being positioned in the lobby. Using the existing theatre seats also added an element of authenticity and harked back to the time the theatre was the centre of the town.
